Pawel Ciszewski’s Problem
It was recently announced that the popular WP Theme site wpdesigner.com was purchased by someone named Pawel Ciszewski. This has been fully covered on other sites and is not news at this point. The problem is… that neither is Pawel Ciszewski.
Small Potato, the former owner of the site announced the purchase and the Ciszewski name almost 3 days ago and since that time we have heard absolutely nothing from him. For Pawel Ciszewski this could spell big problems. Why? Because the attention span of the online audience is very short and whilst he’s busy “getting ready” to get the site going, his audience could leave him completely.
Small Potato built the site from the group up by regularly posting great content about Wordpress, themes, design and the community in general. First I came to the site for the themes (they were great at the time) but I stayed around because his personality, content and writing style were engaging.
In the months before the WPDesigner Theme Club came into existence Small Potato posted new content on a very regular basis, for a while he was uploading a new Wordpress them every day. This kind of activity was what drew me and the hundreds (or thousands) of others back to the site every day, looking for new content and accounting for all of the site visitor statistics that were used to value the site at $65,000.
As the days go by and no new content is added I’m getting bored with the whole thing and am considering moving on from my regular visits. Sometimes a good thing just ends and you have to find other things to do (other than go outside… ever).
If Pawel Ciszewski really wants to capitalize on this purchase and increase his chances for making back his investment he needs to get going soon. Post something, post his life story, post his idea for the site, post why he bought the site, post that he’s glad that everyone is sticking around, post a theme design, post ANYTHING. Right now there are still waves of people coming to the site to see if anything new has been announced or added and I would guess that those numbers will decrease on a daily basis.
I’ve done some light research and can’t seem to find any info outside this LinkedIn profile for a Pawel Ciszewski who is a Stock Controller in Poland. Does anyone know who this person is? Pawel… speak!
For Ciszewski, the time is now. For WPDesigner.com, the future is beginning to look a bit ‘shaky‘.

Could be a hoax. We’ll just have to wait and see…

[…] Ruined. Done. Ok I take back what I said in the last post on this topic… Pawel shouldn’t have said anything. The theme club was an after thought for the site […]

Only time can tell where Pawel will take WPDesigner.com. By doubting Pawel’s potential, you are ultimately, doubting SP’s decision in choosing Pawel to be the new owner.
Sumang, that is freaking hilarious. Looks like Polish diplomat/businessman circa 1975
Dude, Laman, are you nuts? That was a great interview. Big value, especially the conversation about conditional widgets/sidebars and where to go with it.
Change the title of the post man, that’s just insulting.
