Wasp Attack

Some days the stars align and life feels good. You wake up, the birds are singing (really) the sun is shining and you kind of feel like you’re living in a movie.

Today was a day like this. I got out of my bed after reading a few snippets of advice from a small black book and I made a smoothie and peanut butter waffles. I took it all with me and walked out onto my deck. I placed a green chair directly in the sun and began to read.

It was peaceful… until the wasps came.

There were two of them and they seemed a bit interested in what I was doing. First, I should tell you that I am horrified of wasps and bees. I had a few encounters as a child that affected me badly.

There was the time I remember stepping in hole and having 100 wasps fly UP and INTO my underwear at around age 6 or 7. Then there was the attack of the goat bees (named because they were as big as goats) in our rehearsal barn (yeah i said barn) back in my teens. Imagine 4 guys with 80’s rock hair being attacked by giant bees. One got into Greg’s hair and stung him repeatedly while he tried to hold onto his guitar and thrash the bees off of him.

Anyway, the wasps came and I almost lost my cool. I screamed several curse words out loud before deciding to just play it cool, sit in my spot, read and enjoy the day and know that the spirits of the universe was going to allow whatever was supposed to happen to happen and if I was to be stung, I’d be stung. I continued reading and heard the wasps buzzing around me but instead of panicking I just kept reading and you know what, they didn’t sting me. It was no problem, I finished my chapter and went about my day.

It’s interesting how things that used to be such a problem for me are taking care of themselves. I don’t have to worry about anything.

I wish the universal spirit unicorns would answer my prayers regarding getting some left padding on your article pages.

Those little buggers are trying to take over my house. You know me bro, I’m happy you’re turning things over to a higher authority, and normally I would do the same but this is complete madness. I’m getting some RAID!
